Recommendation for Enactment of H.R. 9753: Settlement of Claims of the Pawnee Indians, 1946-01-01 - 1946-12-31
Scope and Contents
The Secretary of the Interior is recommending the enactment of a bill to settle certain claims of the Pawnee Indians against the United States, including a shortage in the area of their reservation and damages for railroad rights of way. The Office of Indian Affairs suggests amending the bill to authorize an appropriation of $6,079.50 to settle the outstanding claims of the Pawnee Tribe. The Commissioner of Indian Affairs does not believe it is necessary to refer the claims to the United States Court of Claims.
