Scope and Contents
This bill authorizes an appropriation of $776,742.03 to be paid to the Osage Tribe of Indians for land sold by the United States. The funds will be placed in the Treasury of the United States and distributed to the tribe according to regulations. This appropriation is intended to settle the tribe's claim against the United States under a treaty from 1865. The Secretary of the Interior is authorized to pay attorneys' fees and expenses from the appropriation.
