Proposed Legislation for Depletion Allowance in Fluorspar Production, 1945-08-27 - 1945-08-27
Scope and Contents
Mr. Schwabe received a letter from Mr. Davis suggesting a permanent fifteen percent depletion allowance in income tax rates for those producing Fluorspar. Schwabe forwarded the suggestion to his secretary in Washington who is working with the Legislative Counsel to prepare a proposed bill to introduce in Congress. The Legislative Counsel is currently preparing the bill and it will be ready for Schwabe to introduce after Congress reconvenes. Schwabe suggests that Davis or others interested in the production of Fluorspar appear before the committee to offer evidence in support of the proposed measure. Schwabe will keep Davis updated on the progress of the bill.
