Concerns Regarding Electric Service in Osage County, 1946-10-22

Scope and Contents

Mr. Grant F. Pickett from Sand Springs, Oklahoma wrote to Congressman Schwabe requesting information on when a group of forty families in Osage County can expect to receive electric service from the Verdegris Valley Electrification Cooperative. The Rural Electrification Administration stated that construction is proposed for the area north of Sand Springs and east of Shell Lake. Materials have been difficult to obtain due to shortages caused by government restrictions during the war. Congressman Schwabe is willing to help expedite the extension of electrical service into the community. Mrs. A. L. Warren, Secretary, assured Pickett that they will investigate and provide updates on the progress. Congressman Schwabe requested Warren to obtain information and respond to Pickett promptly.
