The letter is a response from George B. Schwabe to Sidney A. Shook, in which Schwabe expresses his doubts about being able to help Shook due to his efforts to reduce governmental interference in business operations. He mentions recommending Shook for a position at a drugstore in Hominy and for handling surplus property equipment, but expresses frustration at the preference for political connections over qualifications. Schwabe offers to continue to support Shook if needed. Shook had previously informed Schwabe of his plans to purchase a motor company in Pawhuska and his interest in selling surplus equipment for the RFC.
