Addressing Government Dependence: A Call for Change, 1945-10-18
Scope and Contents
The letter from George B. Schwabi to Mr. H. G. Darnell expresses agreement with Darnell's concerns about government regulations and the extension of the OPA. Schwabi states that he voted against the extension of OPA and is against further rules and regimentation imposed by the New Deal. He mentions that public demands and criticism will be key in convincing the government to change its actions. The letter also addresses the issue of workers refusing to work due to government benefits, and requests legislative action to address this issue.
