Resolution for Per Capita Payment to Creek Tribe of Indians, 1945-01-01 - 1946-12-31
Scope and Contents
The Executive Creek National Council is seeking an accounting and per capita payment for the Creek Tribe of Indians based on the allotment agreement of 1901 and subsequent acts of Congress. They acknowledge the government's settlement of equalizing allotments and request payment for members who did not receive their checks due to negligence. All funds must be paid under the direction of the Secretary of the Interior, and the tribe consents to per capita payment with the approval of the President. The Council also requests an audit of all funds in the US Treasury to the credit of the tribe and appoints a special committee to assist in checking records. Once approved, the Secretary of the Interior will prescribe payment to all eligible members and deduct ten percent for services rendered by council officials.
