Transportation Restrictions for Summer and Fall Fairs, 1945-04-20
Scope and Contents
The Office of Defense Transportation is warning fair managers not to make elaborate advance preparations for upcoming events due to increasing demands on transportation services. The nation's railroads are already taxed to the utmost and restrictions on fairs may be necessary to reduce travel load. Passenger car travel must also be minimized due to shortages of manpower, equipment, tires, and batteries. Owners are urged to see their cars as part of the nation's transportation system and not for pleasure transportation.
