Transportation Warnings for Summer and Fall Fairs, 1945-04-20
Scope and Contents
The Office of Defense Transportation warns managers of state, regional, and county fairs not to make elaborate advance preparations for events due to heavy demands on transportation services. Restrictions on fairs may be necessary to reduce travel load and money spent on preparations may be wasted. Passenger car travel needs to be minimized due to shortages of manpower, equipment, tires, and batteries. Cars are considered part of the nation's common transportation plant and have essential wartime transportation duties.
