Scope and Contents

Colonel J. Monroe Johnson, chairman of the War Committee on Conventions, wrote to Coburn Jones of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce stating that due to transportation shortages and uncertainty following V-E Day, it is not advisable to plan and prepare for agricultural fairs on a large scale. He advised that only county fairs conducted on a strictly local basis may be feasible.
