Title: Correspondence Regarding Claim for Deceased Son's Back Pay, 1946-01-22

Scope and Contents

Mrs. Irma Faye Richey contacted Congressman George B. Schwabe regarding her son's back pay from the Navy. The Comptroller General informed her that, under Public Law 306, the balance due to her son's estate would be split between her and her son's father. Since the father was still alive, Mrs. Richey was not entitled to the full amount. The General Accounting Office was in the process of sending a letter to Mrs. Richey regarding this decision.
