Correspondence Regarding Farm Loans for Returning Veterans Post-WWII, 1946-03-16

Scope and Contents

The American Legion in Oklahoma is concerned about returned veterans being unable to obtain farm loans for spring planting. They are requesting additional appropriations be made available to the Farm Security Administration to expedite the loan process. Congressman George B. Schwabe acknowledges the issue and expresses willingness to assist once the matter is properly before them for action. The Legion believes a national emergency exists and urges immediate supplemental appropriation to avoid serious consequences.
