Correspondence Regarding Depletion of Veterans' Farm Loan Funds in Oklahoma, 1946, 1946-03-26
Scope and Contents
Mrs. M. Edith Powell, Secretary of the American War Dads Auxiliary in Oklahoma, wrote to Hon. George B. Schwabe, Representative, expressing concern that funds for chattel loans for veterans distributed through the Farm Security Administration are depleted. They have discovered that there are 2,300 veterans' loan applications in Oklahoma and are requesting an immediate additional appropriation to address the urgent need for loans for spring planting and general farm expenses. Representative Schwabe responded, stating that a Bill has been passed in the House to address the situation and he is willing to assist the veterans in any way possible.
