Correspondence on Differences in Pension Laws for Spanish-American War and World War I Veterans, 1944-01-22
Scope and Contents
Mr. Sullivan wrote to Congressman Schwabe requesting equal pension rights for veterans of the Spanish-American War and World War I. Congressman Schwabe forwarded the letter to the House Committee on World War Veterans Legislation, who in turn sent bills to address the issue. Congressman Schwabe and Chairman Rankin discussed the matter and agreed to monitor developments in Congress. Sullivan expressed his support for Schwabe and urged him to consider the pension issue for World War I veterans.
