Scope and Contents
George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress from the 1st District of Oklahoma, received a letter regarding a bill proposing a seventeen percent increase in salaries for federal employees. While not on the Committee handling the bill, Schwabe expressed his support for Civil Service employees and promised to watch the bill with interest and help when it is brought before the House for action. He also mentioned that he is sending a copy of his reply to all the Civil Service employees who signed the original letter.
