Scope and Contents

Enrolled members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes are petitioning for a referendum to approve or reject a portion of a contract regarding the distribution of deceased members' shares. They are seeking support from the Oklahoma delegation and believe that the blood-line distribution should be followed as originally intended. Congressman Carl Albert is considering introducing a bill related to the issue but wants to ensure it will not delay new payments to heirs.
