Resolution No. 17-111: Exemption of Osage Tribe Members from H.R. 1113, 1948-01-01 - 1948-12-31
Scope and Contents
The Osage Tribal Council sent a resolution to Congressman Carl Albert requesting that a bill be amended to exempt members of the Osage Tribe from its provisions. The resolution states that general legislation removing restrictions on Indian property could be harmful to certain members of the tribe due to their wealth derived from tribal mineral estates. Congressman Albert responded to the letter, promising to give the resolution serious consideration.
