Thank You for Your Continued Support: Letter from Carl Albert, M.C. to A.A. Hopkins-Dukes, 1968-01-01 - 1968-12-31
Scope and Contents
A resolution was introduced in the Oklahoma Legislature praising Oklahoma State University President Robert B. Kamm for prohibiting faculty participation in campus student protest meetings. The resolution was initially critical of Kamm's actions regarding a speaker advocating the "God is Dead" theology, but was later revised to simply commend his leadership. The resolution received support from both Republican and Democratic senators, but some faculty members and students protested against Kamm's restrictions on academic freedom. Senator Al Nichols authored the resolution, which was postponed for a vote until the following day.
