Update on Choctaw and Chickasaw Coal Land Sale, 1948-06-16
Scope and Contents
Mr. William Lewis wrote a letter to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the payment for the sale of Choctaw and Chickasaw coal lands. Albert responded, stating that the resolution confirming the sale had been passed by the House of Representatives and sent to the President for signature. However, with Congress adjourning soon, it was uncertain if action would be taken. Albert thanked Lewis for his support and offered assistance in return. Lewis expressed gratitude in advance and requested a prompt response.
