Scope and Contents

The Chairman of the Board is responding to Congressman Schwabe regarding a protest from the National Federation of Telephone Workers concerning a decision in the Western Electric Company case. The Chairman explains that the case is still under review and will not be decided until the end of the year. The Board will make a decision based on the record and will not be influenced by pressure campaigns, such as the threat of a nationwide telephone strike. The Chairman assures Congressman Schwabe that the Board will give the case careful attention.
