The text is a series of communications between Tom Scanlan, a law student, and Senator Fred R. Harris regarding a program to get culturally deprived students into law schools. Scanlan expresses his interest in qualifying American Indians for the program and requests a meeting with the Senator. Senator Harris expresses his support for the program and offers assistance. Scanlan calls the Senator's office but is unable to meet due to the Senator being out of town.
