Funding Sources for American Indian Students at Oral Roberts University, 1970-09-09
Scope and Contents
Senator Fred R. Harris received a letter from Dean Carl H. Hamilton of Oral Roberts University requesting information on sources of funding to assist American Indian students. Senator Harris contacted the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, who provided information on scholarship grants and other sources of educational assistance for American Indian students. The letter also mentioned private organizations that provide educational assistance to Indians. Dean Hamilton expressed the university's interest in offering specific programs for American Indian students and requested Senator Harris' suggestions on obtaining funds and encouraging American Indian students to attend ORU.
