Scope and Contents
In the letters addressed to Senator Elmer Thomas and Senator Styles Bridges, General J.M. Wainwright urges them to bring General MacArthur back to the United States to testify before Congress on matters of national preparedness, foreign affairs, and dealing with anti-American groups. Wainwright emphasizes MacArthur's extensive experience and practical knowledge in these areas and believes his testimony would be of great benefit to the nation.
