Request for Information on Legislative History of the Atomic Bomb, 1947-03-05
Scope and Contents
Elmer Thomas is seeking information on the legislative history of the atomic bomb and recalls a meeting during the war with Senator Barkley, Secretary of War Stimson, and others. He asks Senator Thomas for any information he may have from the meeting to add to a compilation of statements. No legislation was enacted regarding the development of the atomic bomb, and funds were added to appropriation bills in a secretive manner.
