Concerning the Outlet Pipe Issue in Dam #16: Correspondence and Resolution, 1958-03-06
Scope and Contents
Senator Robert S. Kerr received a letter from the Soil Conservation Service about the leakage in the outlet pipe on dam #16 in the Sandstone Creek Project. The investigation revealed leakage around the band couplers, which will be corrected by cleaning, repacking, and tightening the couplers. Mr. Baker, who reported the issue, is satisfied with the plans to fix the leakage. The Soil Conservation Service is working to establish responsibility for the maintenance of the structure. Senator Kerr is actively following up on the situation and will provide further information once available.
