Claims of Heirs of Deceased Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribe Members, 1949-09-15
Scope and Contents
The letter discusses the payment of claims to heirs of deceased members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes for the sale of coal lands to the government. The Superintendent is currently paying living enrolled members, and will send out heirship notices to determine legal heirs. The process may take longer, but claims will be taken care of as quickly as possible. The recipient is advised to contact the Superintendent for a proof of heirship form if needed. A response from a resident named Janey expresses eagerness to receive payment.
