Solonian McCombs, a candidate for Principal Chief of the Creek Tribe, is running in the Aug. 16 primary election. He is a seven-eighths Creek and has a background in art and government. McCombs is focused on promoting Creek arts and crafts and improving communication within the tribe. He supports limiting chief candidates to those who are a fourth or more Creek and who speak fluent Creek.
