Impact of Inclusion in the Wild and Scenic Rivers System: A Concern for Property Owners Along the Illinois River, 1974-12-09
Scope and Contents
The letter from James R. Jones, M.C., responds to Gerald Duke's inquiry about the impact of including the Illinois River in the Wild and Scenic Rivers System. Legislation must be passed by Congress for a study to be conducted, and currently, there is uncertainty if the Illinois River will be studied. During the study period, there is a moratorium on federally-assisted project development. Each river in the system is managed differently based on the study findings. Additional information is offered, and assistance is requested in gathering information about the impact on property owners along the Illinois River.
