Resolution on Administration of Johnson O'Malley Program by Eight-Tribe Inter-Tribal Council, 1972-03-04

 Item — Box: DP 100, Folder: 41
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_100_41_0002

Scope and Contents

The Eight-Tribe Inter-Tribal Council, Inc. of Northeast Oklahoma adopted a resolution recommending that the Bureau of Indian Affairs continue to contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education for the administration of the Johnson O'Malley program, rather than contracting with individual Indian Tribes. If the Bureau insists on contracting with an Indian organization or tribe, the resolution suggests awarding a single contract to the Oklahoma Indian Tribal Council. The resolution was adopted unanimously by the council in March 1972.
