The Honorable James R. Jones, U. S. House of Representatives, Washington, D. C.
Scope and Contents
The undersigned members of the Delaware Tribe of Indians understand that a group of non-Delawares are asking Congress to amend the 1972 Delaware Judgment Distribution Act, and are asking for 10% of the Delaware Award funds. The Delaware people have been waiting 7 years for the judgment to be paid out, and these "Kansas Delawares" have held up the payment for 4 years. The Delawares living in the congressional district urge Representative James R. Jones to do everything in his power to ensure an immediate and orderly payout of the Delaware Award.
