Ms. Lorene White's comments to Indian Health Service on who's eligible for IHS programs, 1981-02-13 - 1981-02-19
Scope and Contents
The text contains information on who is eligible for Indian Health Service programs. Eligibility is based on factors such as tribal membership, enrollment, residence on tax-exempt land, ownership of restricted property, active participation in tribal affairs, or other relevant factors. In cases where it is unclear whether an individual is eligible, the Medical Officer in Charge will obtain information from the appropriate Bureau of Indian Affairs officials. Priority for care and treatment is given to those with the greatest medical need and those who have the least access to other arrangements for obtaining care.
