In this dangerous age, it's vital that we... Senator John Tower of Texas talks about Richard Nixon. I believe that Dick Nixon would restore international respect for the United States of America. Senator, in what ways can the president best restore this international respect? I think you have to start by putting your own house in order at home, and I think Dick Nixon would do this by restoring respect for law and order in this country. I don't believe that he would tolerate violence. I believe he will back up the efforts of our state and local law enforcement officers through block grants and other means. I think he would appoint to the court judges who are as interested in protecting the law-abiding citizen as the criminal. And I believe that he would see that federal laws are vigorously enforced and would wage an active campaign against organized crime. For more information, visit www.fema.gov
