This is Senator John Kennedy, Democratic nominee for the presidency, speaking to the people of Tennessee. I ask your support of the election on November 8th. I believe Tennessee knows what a progressive, Democratic administration can do in providing protection to the cotton farmers, in providing the development of our natural resources, as in TVA, in providing security for our older citizens under Social Security, and education for our children, jobs for our people. All these are programs which have been associated with the Democratic Party. All these are programs which the Republican Party has opposed. I have worked in the Senate with your two senators, Senator Kefauver, Senator Gore, and with your governor, Governor Ellington. I believe a Democratic administration can move Tennessee and the United States forward in the 60s. I ask your support. Thank you.
