This is the Coate Brilliant Public Grade School, and these are mothers of pupils who attend that school. And here is John F. Kennedy, who has gone to them to answer their questions. What role does the federal government play in education? The federal government does provide some assistance to those areas which have larger federal projects. But I believe in the passage by this Congress, and I hope the next administration, of a federal aid to education bill, which would provide assistance to the various states for school construction and for teacher salaries. And we want good classrooms, and we want each child to have an advantage of getting the best education he can get. So I strongly support federal aid to education. Mr. Nixon and his party have blocked every effort to provide federal help for schools. Therefore, to bring federal aid to the educational system of your community, vote for the man who has been a leader in this fight for many years. Vote for John F. Kennedy.
