The collection covers the period 1927-2003, but most of it is from the early 1970s through the late 1990s. Documents contained in the collection include clippings/publications, correspondence, honors/awards, invitations, speeches/press releases, memorabilia, and photographs. The collection contains a record of Rothbaum's association with the University of Oklahoma, his service as a regent for the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and his friendship with Carl Albert.
