Scope and Contents
Contains various materials pertaining to a subcommittee hearing to review the USDA Alternative Farming Program. The hearing was held on April 28, 1988 before the Subcommittee on Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources of the House Committee on Government Operations, and covered the potential of low input, alternative, agricultural practices to help solve a variety of economic and environmental problems associated with the use of pesticides and fertilizer in conventional farming methods, including groundwater contamination. Materials include items such as a witness list and testimonies. These materials were originally housed in a folder titled "Sarah Silver's Hearing Folder, April 28, 1988."
