Scope and Contents

Contains various materials on the proposed Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Osage County, Oklahoma (H.R. 3803, S. 1967) and the severely opposing viewpoints surrounding the proposal, particularly by the Osage Nation, and local ranchers. Includes numerous constituent letters from the Osage Tribal Council, National Audubon Society, Sierra Club, and others, as well as numerous photocopies of news clippings. Also contains a piece of inter-office correspondence urging Synar to stay out of the issue.
