Biographical:
Verneil English served as Carl Albert's secretary and assistant for over twenty-five years. She started as a part-time secretary and rose to become one of the highest paid staff officers on the Hill during Albert's tenure. She performed many roles for Albert as his executive assistant including stenographer, caseworker, speechwriter, and administrator.
